What I Wore: Night Out

As a student I love a good night out, and one of my favourite parts of the night is getting ready and planning my outfit. Today’s outfit is something very different to anything I’ve worn before and features items from Missguided and Pretty Little Thing, which as I’ve mentioned previously are brilliant for night out clothes.

Starting with accessories for a change, I just wore the Gold Heart Hoop Earrings from Pretty Little Thing. These earrings have become my new favourite for both in the day and for nights out. They are super cute, and are a great alternative to normal hoop earrings. Pretty Little Thing have described them as ‘large’ earrings, however I would say they’re a medium size considering I have earrings which are a lot larger in size. These are only £4, and are also available in silver.

In an attempt to change my style up a bit I wore the Plum Faux Suede Shirt Dress from Missguided in a size 8. This dress is in sale for £11, and was previously £28. The colour is a stunning plum/burgundy shade, which is one of my favourite colours and is made of faux suede which adds a bit of texture to the outfit. The faux suede also made the shirt super comfy and soft. I wore this dress in a similar way to the model on Missguided, as I had some of the buttons undone to reveal my bra (which was a £3 bargain in the sale from Primark a few months ago). One of my favourite things about shirt dresses is that they can be dressed up or down allowing them to be versatile piece in your wardrobe; they can be dressed up through adding heels, jewellery and undoing a few buttons, or dressed down by having the buttons done up and wearing with maybe tights and some ankle boots.

These boots were a huge risk for me, as when I ordered them I was really unsure of how they would look on me. Due to being fairly short (5 ft 4), I’ve always stayed away from knee high or thigh high boots, however when I saw these in the sale on Missguided I decided to give them a go. The boots I wore are the Grey Pointed Neoprene Over the Knee Boots which were £16, down from £40 – so they were an absolute bargain! As you can see, on me these boots are more thigh high than knee high, but I am obsessed with them. The grey pairs perfectly with the burgundy shirt dress, and really dresses up the outfit. These boots have a block heel, whereas most knee high boots have a rather uncomfortable thin heel.

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed this outfit post!
